Tastingnotes:
Disgorged from a refill bourbon hogshead, this is the colour of white wine and displays a very good bead. This classic Islay nose combines white pepper, smoked pancetta, barnacles, Christmas trees, and Savlon to great effect. On the palate we head dockside with lobster creels, petrol, tar, seaweed, ash, anchovies, mackerel pate on oatcakes. The bright, briney finish is all lemon and seafood. Something fishy is going on here.

Nose: Smoked meats and savoury coastal influence balanced by toffee apple, spiced chocolate, and dried fruit.
Palate: Rich mocha and golden syrup, leading into maritime peat smoke, plum skin, and more savoury meatiness.
Finish: Wood smoke, orange marmalade, and burnt vanilla pod.

Tastingnotes Drawn from a refill Oloroso sherry butt this has the colour of copper with a moderate bead. The nose delivered lemon drizzle cake, almost posset, profiteroles, nougat & crème anglaise with ripe and juicy sultanas. On the taste we found macerated red fruit, dark chocolate, becoming oilier (typical of make) almost savory like Bovril and salted fudge.

Tasting notes fra Alex Bruce og Graeme Mackay fra Adelphi:
Colour – Copper
Nose – Cedar, wood varnish, pine resin, mace, pecan nuts. Lychee, papaya, strawberry.
Palate – Red apple, dried ginger, pomegranate molasses, cigar box, leather, earthy, black tea.
A pleasing, lengthy finish with well balanced tannins and a rich aftertaste.
It’s a cracking dram.
The Glover 22 år Malt Whisky

Cask: En fusion mellem gamle Longmorn, Glen Garioch og Hanyu. Kun fremstillet i 390 flasker, og kun ganske få eksemplarer kom til Danmark.

The Glover er en fantastisk blended malt bestående af sjældne japanske og skotske whiskyer. Den er opkaldt efter den “skotske Samurai” Thomas Blake Glover, som var den første udlænding det blev tildelt ’Order of the Rising Sun’ fra den japanske kejser, for at fejre de to landes forhold. Manden der er ansvarlig for at blende denne ekstraordinære whisky sammen med Charles MacLean, er Adelphis Direktør Alex Bruce, hvis egen tipoldefar Jarlen af Elgin underskrev den første traktat for handel og samhørighed mellem Storbritannien og Japan i 1858!
Et enkelt ex-Sherry Hogshead fra det lukkede destilleri Hanyu blev blended med et ex-Sherry Hogshead fra Longmorn (der udgør 35% af det endelige whisky) samt en lille smule af et ex-Sherry butt fra Glen Garioch. Der er blot fremstillet 390 hånd-nummererede flasker.
